HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

Participants' accommodations in the Shimabara Peninsula are offered in four main areas: Shimabara, Unzen, Obama, and Minami-Shimabara. A bus trip takes 15 min to Shimabara, 30 to Unzen, 60 to Obama, and 40 to Minami-Shimabara. Shuttle buses are available daily between all hotels in these four areas and the conference venue. These areas have many Japanese-style inns and a few western-style hotels. Most of the inns provide Japanese Ryokan-style rooms with a futon, i.e., the Japanese traditional style of bedding consisting of padded mattresses on a tatami-matted floor.

APPLICATION AND PAYMENT FOR HOTELS:

Participants wishing to reserve hotel accommodations should apply online to reach JTB GMT no later than April 12th. Application should be accompanied by a remittance of the total amount of the room charge due JTB GMT.

No reservation will be confirmed in the absence of this payment. All payment must be in Japanese yen. If the remittance covers more than one person, or if the name of the remitter is not the same as the participant's, please inform us of the name of each participant. Payment needs to be in the form of either one of the following:

CANCELLATION POLICY:

In the event of cancellation, written notification should be sent to JTB GMT. The following cancellation fees will be deducted before any refund is made, in addition to the handling charge.

Hotels:	Up to 10 days before the first night of stay --	None
	9 to 2 days before --------------------------------------	20% of room charge
	1 day before -----------------------------------------------	80% of room charge
	On the day of arrival or no notice given -------	100% of room charge
